Getting frustrated trying to figure out how to remove the cranks on my bike. I have the tools I need, but I cannot for the life of me get it to work! What am I doing wrong? Argh! I've already spent £40 on the tools for this jobs so I'm loathe to now take it to a repair shop. Bugger bollcoks arse.

In my office newspapers are passed round during the day to keep us occupied when we're not on the phones. The ones read are the Daily Mail (which, of course, I refuse to read. I just take the puzzles page out of the back and do the sudoku at my leisure), the Metro, which is the local free paper and a highly enjoyable read, and the Evening Post, another local paper which is written appaulingly and seems to be aimed at the most miserable people. It constantly slanders everything, especially the council. Most recently it was blamong the council for the fact that its website was recently hacked and links to porn sites put on a message board.
This happens to all websites at some point, and it gets cleaned up remarkably quickly. But do they expect a business-run site, monitored oinly during office hours, to sort something like this out when it happens at midnight? Gah.
The other thing I read which made me very angry was a very poor review of the Embrace gig at Westonbirt. I can only assume it was written by someone with a deep loathing for indie music, because it was completely unjustified in its accusations that the music was poor, the singing off-key and the crowd bored. I enjoyed myself immensely, and the crowd were certainly very involved in the whole gig. When a band asks the audience to sing along to what is known to be the flagship song (Come Back To What You Know), it's because they're interrecting with the crowd, not because Danny was 'too scared to sing'. True, by the end of the gig his voice was waivering a little, but he sang with his hand clasped to his throat which suggests to me he was suffering somewhat.
Okay, calm. I get very defensive when someone starts slagging off one of my favourite bands. Grrr.
