Cons

Registration has just opened for Eurofurence. For those of you unfamiliar, it's the ONLY European furry convention. Or at least that only one I'm aware of. I'm not going (I'm probably too late now even if I wanted to), but I still wonder whether I should take the plunge and head along to one of these conventions. It would certainly be an experience! Jam says I shouldn't because it would be terrifying, but I think it would more likely be terrific fun, so long as I stayed away from anybody creepy.

I've got a fair idea of what goes on at a convention. I've met a few fellow fursuiters and they've been lovely people, and I would like to meet more. Thing is I know there are some suiters out there who might be less than lovely. I wouldn't appreciate any advances that might be more than simply friendly for example - in fact I think I'd freak out. And I worry that might be something you'd have to deal with at a convention consisting of people who like to wear silly animal costumes. 'Cause, y'know, we're all freaks! ^_^

Maybe if one ever comes to Britain I'll consider going. I certainly won't be forking out for a flight to one of the many American cons, but one in Germany might be more financially viable. I'd be scared of going on my own, though, since my boyfriend certainly wouldn't come!

One of these days I'll get around to making a costume for an anime con - either the London Anime Expo (which has a cosplay section I believe) or Miname (which I never register for in time). I'd like to make me a lycra Zora costume - not too difficult apart from the large head fin which I have no idea how to make! I'd consider that 'phase one'. Maybe if a cosplay anime/gaming con turned out to be fun and doable I'll consider delving into furry territory. For now I'll just admire the pretty costumes and wish I had more confidence.
